Her career in journalism began with Myrtle Beach South Carolina as a news reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV. O'Dell later became morning news anchor on WCBD TV and also as an investigative reporter. The stories she reported in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance regarding DUI cases prompted a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. The result was states authorities enforcing more rigorous rules in these instances. It was reported that the Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the Years Award in all South Carolina Media. Following her work in Charleston O'Dell was a co-anchor and investigative reporter for NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor and a weekday reporter. O'Dell in addition to being the lead anchor for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She's been a reporter for the Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted numerous pre-show arrivals show for The Emmys And The Golden Globes. She also hosts The Miss America Pageant as well as the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
